"The famous Dourthe firm produces this well-known St.-Estephe, which often has a big chunk of Merlot in it. The 2012 Le Boscq is a dense ruby/purple wine with good flesh, ripe black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, medium body, light tannin and a nice lusty, heady finish. This is a relatively sexy wine that will develop nicely over the next 10-12 years."

Earthy, gravelly, blue and red fruits, damp earth, vanillin and spice characteristics are present in this medium-bodied St.-Estephe. It exhibits some gritty tannins as well as a well-balanced mouthfeel and finish. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.

60 % Merlot, 40 % Cabernet Sauvignon. Für einmal ohne Petit Verdot (normal ca. 8 %!). 38 hl/ha. Eine kleine Ernte; nur 50'000 statt 70'000 Flaschen. Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Höllisches Bouquet, Brombeeren (frisch und gekocht) ein Hauch Port, kommt ziemlich wuchtig daher, Kaffee, dunkles Malz, Korinthen. Im Gaumen aussen mit Charme - innen mit konzentrierter Kraft. Für Le Boscq ist es ein unerwartet grosser Jahrgang! Drei Mal verkostet.

Shows flattering toast right away, but the plum and black cherry fruit is a bit shy on depth. Turns toward a roasted earth note on the rustic finish. —J.M.
